My idea of a good time is getting together with other writers. Do you feel the same way? If so, please join me November 11-14 at St. Peter’s Abbey in the small community of Muenster, SK for a retreat.
Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild has hired me as Writer-In-Residence for the retreat. But numbers are limited. We want to keep the retreat small and intimate. The retreat is an ideal escape for writers at any level. Together, we’ll chat about books, writing, enjoy undisturbed time to write, and share meals. Did I mention that we’ll talk about writing? I’ll arrive with a prepared talk for our first evening. By morning, we’ll be old friends who share the same notion of a good time.
All details can be found here: https://skwriter.com/retreats/facilitated-retreats
Deadline for applications is October 13th, midnight.
Cost is $325 per person and includes a private bathroom, all meals, and feedback from me about a story or poems that you’ve got questions about.
The new Doris Hillis Scholarship will cover the cost of attendance for one emerging BIPOC writer working on poetry or drama.
We all need time to think and write in a supportive environment. Come join me.
Please note that the SWG and St. Peter’s Abbey are working hard to provide a safe and enjoyable Facilitated Retreat. This retreat will be held in Lower Severin Hall, which has private rooms and bathrooms for each retreatant, as well as communal space large enough to accommodate social distancing. All applicants must be prepared to follow any Covid-19 protocols in place, which may include a requirement of double vaccinations. Participants are encouraged to provide their own transportation to and from the retreat.
And in case you were wondering, that’s me looking skyward at St. Peter’s Abbey.
